National Goals is a new division of National Hoops Ministries, which was formed in 2004 as a result of the leading of God. Mike Washer was the youth pastor at Westgate Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC for 5 years and God called him to start this National Hoops Ministries with the purpose of reaching out to those who may have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

National Hoops was launched with the support of Westgate. God provided in miraculous ways every piece of equipment necessary needed to conduct tournaments around the country, including vehicles, trailers, heavy duty basketball goals, scoreboards, and a sound system.

In 2009, God laid the burden on Jonathan Washer and his family to become a part of National Hoops in order to reach lost teens with the gospel. Mike Washer's burden at the same time was to reach the teens that were not interested in basketball but instead loved the game of soccer. From those desires came the new divison of National Hoops:
